Client Checklist – Prepare for your Project

Interior Carpentry & Painting

  • All colors must be provided to our office three (3) days prior to start date. An additional cost will be charged for color changes made after commencement of work.
  • If necessary, please disconnect wiring from computers, video, TV and stereos. Client is responsible for reattaching these connections.
  • If you have a wall mounted television, remove the TV from the bracket prior to our arrival.
  • Remove and store any items on the walls in the areas that we are working on.
  • Clear off counters, tables, dressers and shelves of all items.
  • If closets are being worked on, please have them emptied prior to our arrival.
  • If pictures or wall hangings are on the walls and you are keeping them in place, please remove the pictures but leave the hardware in place. If you are moving the pictures, please remove the picture and the hardware, so we know that we are to patch these holes for you.
  • Please remove contents from any cabinetry that is to be painted or worked on.
  • Grandfather clocks and pianos should be secured or removed from the work area.
  • Take down curtains, draperies, etc.
  • Make any necessary arrangements for pets.
  • For your comfort, if you are sensitive to odors (or if anyone is pregnant) you should try to make arrangements to stay away from the job site for the duration of the job.
  • Please allow time to perform a walk-through with your crew leader at the beginning of the project and on the last day of the project.

Exterior Carpentry & Painting

  • All colors must be provided to our office three (3) days prior to start date. An additional cost will be charged for color changes made after commencement of work.
  • Exterior sprinkler systems must not be used while painting is in progress as water in work areas may leave surface (decks and/or house) too wet to prepare and/or paint. Sprinklers must be turned off before work starts, and left off during the duration of your paint project. If sprinklers are left on and cause a wet surface they may cause premature paint failure which will not be covered under warranty.
  • Work areas must be accessible from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm each day for work, Monday-Saturday.
  • Exterior Electrical outlets must be accessible.
  • For your comfort and privacy, please close all bedroom windows and blinds.
  • All shrubbery and trees should be pruned away from house and/or work area by client, if necessary.
  • Please make arrangements to contain or remove any pets during your project.
  • Customer is to be available to meet with foreman on the last day of job.

Pressure Washing

  • Exterior water supply should be turned on.
  • All cars must be moved away from home / building.
  • All windows and doors must be closed tightly, and screens must be removed, if applicable. We are not responsible for any damage to screens that are not removed.
  • Any areas susceptible or sensitive to water penetration must be brought to the attention of the crew prior to the wash. If these areas are not brought to our attention, we are not responsible for any damage that may occur to these areas.
  • If there are any specialty-type/exotic plants/shrubs, please bring it to the attention of the crew so we can avoid the area.
  • Any canvas awnings must be removed prior to our arrival.
  • We are not responsible for any damage to exterior electrical sockets, alarm systems, phone systems or cable systems, due to water penetration.
  • Contractor is not to be held responsible for any damage to planted flowers / vegetables in flowerbeds due to volume of water used during washing process.

Cabinet Refinishing

  • All colors must be provided to our office three (3) days prior to start date. An additional cost will be charged for color changes made after commencement of work.
  • Clear off counters tops of all items.
  • Remove contents from cabinetry that is to be worked on.
  • Please inform us if any hardware like knobs, hinges, pulls and handles will be replaced.
  • Make any necessary arrangements for pets.
  • For your comfort, if you are sensitive to odors (or if anyone is pregnant) you should try to make arrangements to stay away from the job site for the duration of the job.
  • Please allow time to perform a walk through with your crew leader at the beginning of the project and on the last day of the project.

Flooring

  • All stain colors must be provided to our office three (3) days prior to start date. Client must be present on first day of work to approve stain sample.
  • Please disconnect wiring from computers, video, TV and stereos. Client is responsible for reattaching these connections.
  • If you have a wall mounted television, remove the TV from the bracket prior to our arrival.
  • Remove and store any items on the walls in the areas that we are working on.
  • All furniture must be removed from work area, unless previously agreed with contractor that it be removed (please contact us to confirm).
  • If closets are being worked on, please have them emptied prior to our arrival.
  • Take down curtains, draperies, etc.
  • Make any necessary arrangements for pets.
  • For your comfort, if you are sensitive to odors (or if anyone is pregnant) you should try to make arrangements to stay away from the job site for the duration of the job.
  • Please leave phone numbers and contact information where you can be reached during the day.
  • Please allow time to perform a walk through with your crew leader at the beginning of the project and on the last day of the project.
